She writes:
"Gypsy, Roma, Traveller History month is being celebrated this June and if you are holding an event we want you to mark the occasion. I am is currently coordinating a photo archive project to celebrate GRTHM, so if you or anyone you know is interested in participating please contact me on 07900 678291 or email me."
She will send you a disposable camera. When you return it you will receive a £5 voucher for participating and your photos will then be entered in the competition. If one is short listed for the final 10 it will then be published in Traveller Times October issue for the public to text vote the winners!
If you know of any Traveller families that would like to take a camera around with them in June either to an event they attend or generally following what they did during the month Rose can send you a camera to do this. If they return the used camera to Rose to be developed she will then send them a £5 voucher as a thank you for participating.
They can also send a narrative for the pictures e.g. “this is me Rose Wilson my mum xxx dad xxx little sister xxx and brother xxx visiting Appleby Horse Fair” ~ they can also give some explanations for the pictures, if they write it down as they take them.
Please note if they wish for people to be named they need to get their permission first (forms provided) and state that the pictures may be used in a nationwide publication!
Cameras need to be returned by 31st July to be entered.
